Round 12 recap
Sandringham's winning streak came to an end last week after going down to Collingwood by 17 points at the Holden Centre.
Despite a strong four-goal showing to open proceedings, the visitors couldn't curb the opposition after quarter-time and struggled to combat the influence of Collingwood’s major ball-winners.
The 11.15 (81) to 10.3 (63) result came off the back of the Magpies' dominance at stoppage (44-23) and weight of possession (+119).
Darragh Joyce (22 disposals, eight rebound-50s, five marks) continued his good form to be the backbone of Sandringham’s defensive half, while Oscar Clavarino (17 disposals) also proved influential down back taking a team-high eight marks.
Dean Kent was impressive in the midfield in his first game since concussion, while Jack Lonie and Cooper Sharman each snagged two majors.
Opposition Watch
Essendon conceded their third loss in a row after suffering a 75-point loss at the hands of Geelong at GMHBA Stadium last Friday.
Nick O’Kearney stood tall collecting 33 disposals and eight tackles, while Dylan Clarke was impressive in his first game back from injury with 25 disposals and seven tackles.
