Fisher’s injury is a bitter blow for the veteran, who was sidelined for the second half of 2013 with a toe complaint and battled through an interrupted pre-season due to back and hamstring issues.
The 31-year-old two-time best and fairest gathered four disposals in a matter as many minutes for Sandringham before limping from the field on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the setback, St Kilda’s Head of Football Chris Pelchen expects Fisher to make a full recovery:"Sam is an experienced player who is familiar with the injuries associated with AFL football," Pelchen told SAINTS.com.au.
"So while his start to 2014 might have been somewhat frustrating, we still anticipate him returning to the Saints team for the second half of the season."

But it is Geary’s injury that may prove the most costly of them all. A reliable defender and emerging leader, he tore ligaments in his elbow on Saturday and was subbed out of the game for Josh Saunders in the second term.In a cruel twist of fate, it was also the 25-year-old’s 100th AFL game.
VIDEO: Jarryn Geary's elbow injury
"Jarryn had made a strong start to this year's campaign so to lose him for such a significant part of the season is disappointing for both him and the Club. His on and off-field leadership has been integral to the development of our young players so we look forward to his return – hopefully, later this year," Pelchen said.Meanwhile, Tom Hickey has had further scans on his injured foot which have cleared him of any fracture but the stress reaction will not see him return for 6-8 weeks, while defenders Sam Gilbert and Nathan Wright both remain more than two months away.
"Tom developed soreness in his foot last week which we are pleased that scans have cleared of any fracture but will still necessitate him having a period of rest before returning to running in about four weeks time."
Following a leg injury in round four, David Armitage is expected to be fit to play after the bye round in three weeks from now.
