This week as we thank our members as part of Saints Say Thanks, we're giving back to the fans who have stuck by us in 2021.
Eight-year-old Noah Bertschik, a Saints member since birth, loves all things St Kilda and footy, especially his favourite player, Rowan Marshall.
Like many kids, learning from home hasn't been easy. But when the opportunity to write about his club and favourite player came about, Noah couldn't wait to pen his story.
Rowan Marshall and the Magic Boots tells a story of the Saints star from "Footy Land" who receives a pair of magic boots to "do big kicks that always get big goals!"
After being given some magic boots from a wizard far away, Rowan and the Saints - along with Noah who also had a pair of magic boots - came away with a big win in what was "Noah's best day ever".
Noah's mum passed on the story to the Saints in the hopes it would reach Rowan. While undergoing isolation in Perth last month, Noah’s fairytale landed in Rowan's hands.
Rowan was touched by the story from one his youngest fans and was inspire to put a smile on Noah's face just as the letter had for him.
Upon returning to Melbourne, Rowan sent a letter and a pair of his very own boots to Noah. While they may not have been magic, he hoped that they would helped that his message would be far powerful for young Noah.
“Keep writing your stories and dreaming big - maybe i'll see you out there wearing my boots one day."
