A new month, the start of summer and the launch of an exciting end of year membership campaign.

Today we’re launching our ‘31 by 31’ campaign, setting ourselves the target of signing 31,000 members by 31 December 2016.

If the milestone is achieved, we'll not only smash all previous records and set a new mark for the highest number of members before the end of the year in Saints’ history.

In 2016, we broke through the 38,000 members mark for the first time in five years (2011), with more than 7,500 new members joining – the largest growth of any AFL club.

Now we’re challenging supporters to capitalise on the momentum of our strong 2016 on-field form and drive us towards 31,000.

CEO Matt Finnis thanks all existing members and encourages supporters to join the Saints by the end of year to help us achieve the target.

“Our 31 by 31 campaign is aimed at driving us towards 31,000 members by December 31 – this would be an historic achievement and we are calling on all our fans to help us get there,” Finnis said.

“The team finished off the 2016 season with such positive momentum, that our aim with the 31 by 31 is to capitalise on that excitement and continue to build our club off-field.

“We are calling on all our supporters – especially those who might have dropped off as members – to get back on board and support this exciting and talented list as we build towards something special. We are also taking the opportunity to thank those who have already signed up and ask them to reach out to other supporters who might want to become a Saint,” he said.

There are several exciting activations for members and fans to look out for during the campaign - including some surprising (and potentially awkward) karaoke performances from our players.

The Saints truck will pop up at various locations to bring merchandise and membership sales outlets to you in Westfield Southland on 19th and 20th Decembers and players will man the membership phones on the 12th, 14th and 16th of December in a competition to sign the most members.

Lastly, we’ll also host an open training session on Wednesday 21 December at Linen House Centre to wish members and supporters a Merry Christmas. Fans will be able to get player autographs and grab a photo with Santa.
