AN INTENSE weekend camp at the Australian Institute of Sport has fast tracked the bond between Saints recruit Tim Membrey and his new teammates.
St Kilda’s younger brigade of players embarked on a recent trip to Canberra, in which they were pushed to their physical limits as part of their 2015 pre-season.
Membrey said while the trip was far from an enjoyable experience, it did build instant rapport with his new teammates.
“It was a really good chance for me to bond with a few of the guys and get to know them a lot better. That’s what I took out of it, knowing my teammates and who I am going to be spending a lot of time with for the next couple of years,” Membrey said.
The 20-year-old former Swan said he was impressed by the determination and unity among the St Kilda playing list.
“It was a really tough trip mentally and physically for the guys. Everyone stuck together to their credit and worked really hard,” he said.
“There wasn’t much sleep and not enough food. We were just living off sustagen for the first night so it was good to get through that with all the guys and move on to the next part of the club.”
