St Kilda has confirmed changes to its AFLW list, with Nat Exon, Beth Pinchin, Maddie Boyd and Caitlin Matthews advised they will not be offered contracts for the 2025 season.

Beginning her career as a Blue, Nat Exon put her name on the map as a talented Lion before her move to St Kilda ahead of the club’s inaugural season in 2020. Having featured in the competition’s maiden match in 2017, the crafty forward went on to showcase her skills over nine seasons, 53 games and 23 goals at the highest level.

A much-loved and respected member of the playing group, the 31-year-old will finish her career at the Saints having played 34 games in the red, white and black.

“These decisions are never easy, especially as Nat has been such an important part of our program since its inception,” EGM AFLW Tessie McManus said.

“Nat’s resilience has been unfortunately tested regularly through a spate of injuries, however she never let it dim her impact amongst her teammates.

We thank Nat for everything she’s given to the Saints, and the competition more broadly through her time at the Lions and Blues.

Pinchin arrived at Moorabbin as part of the 2023 Supplementary Draft from VFLW affiliate, Southern Saints. Having previously been on Brisbane’s 2021 premiership-winning team list, Pinchin got her chance at senior level, playing five times for the red, white and black in the 2023 season.

An ACL rupture sustained during pre-season training brought Pinchin’s 2024 season to an unfortunate halt, with the sturdy defender moved to the Saints’ inactive list.

In a similar introduction to RSEA Park, Maddie Boyd joined the Saints as an injury replacement player ahead of the 2023 AFLW Season. Bringing senior experience from Melbourne, GWS, and Geelong, the tall-bodied utility made an immediate impact, playing a total of eleven games for the Saints over two seasons.

Oakleigh Chargers product Caitlin Matthews joined the club as a father-daughter recruit in the back end of 2022 for Season 7B after featuring in the Vic Metro side during her draft year. Unfortunately, after suffering an injury setback this year, Matthews did not make an appearance at senior level.

“Nat, Beth, Maddie and Caitlin all made distinct impacts on our club on and off the field. We’re grateful for all their contributions since they first walked through the doors,” McManus said.

“On behalf of the entire club, we’d like to thank these players and wish them all the best for their future careers and endeavours."
