Last Saturday at RSEA Park was full of thrills as St Kilda and Collingwood locked horns in a gripping contest, but the Saints’ wheelchair team was also on hand that afternoon to enjoy its own slice of action as part of its end-of-season celebrations.
Co-principal parter and valued community sponsor Pepper Money surprised the team with four brand-new, sports-specific wheelchairs which will be used by the squad for its upcoming 2023 season.
There are several players in the team who previously didn't have access to a sports-specific wheelchair for training and games. Now, with Pepper Money's support and generosity, they’ll have access to top-of-the-range equipment to help them play and perform at their best.
St Kilda's wheelchair team enjoyed another prominent campaign to follow up its premiership-winning campaign in 2020, making it through to the second semi-final before being knocked out by Collingwood.
Alongside its work with the Saints' wheelchair and blind teams, Pepper Money has done extensive work within the club's community, launching the Pepper Money Real Life Fund earlier this year.
Up to $5,000 grants were generously offered by Pepper Money to various sporting and recreation groups far and wide who are making tangible and meaningful differences for the community.
