The vibes are up at the Saints ahead of an Easter Saturday clash with the Suns at Marvel Stadium.
Get the latest from Ross Lyon as St Kilda look to get the chocolates and keep their perfect start to the season rolling.
1. Wood is good to go
Mason Wood’s starring role in Saturday night’s win over Essendon was soured late in the evening as a potential shoulder injury clouded his stellar start to 2023.
But Saints fans can breathe a sigh of relief, with the 29-year-old training fully on Thursday and declared fit to face the Suns .
The former Roo is the only player in the AFL to record 20 or more disposals and a goal or more in each of the first three rounds.
High-five if you’re good to go 👍

In further positive news, Liam Stocker is also good to go after an "ankle tweak".
Lyon also mentioned draftee Isaac Keeler is back on the track after recovering from a knee setback over the summer.
Ross says… “Mason will train and play. He’s fine. He’s been really important to us but like all of our group, we’re only as good as our next moment. He’s great with our young fellas – has them over for dinner and helps bring their professionalism along. He brings a lot to the table culturally.
2. Young gun's "big future" at Moorabbin
The re-signing of young gun Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera until 2025 delighted the Saints community on Tuesday, including Ross the Boss.
The 20-year-old’s swing from wing to defence has been a resounding success over the first month of footy, ranking above-average for kicks, marks and metres gained across the league in his position.
Backline coach Corey Enright identified Wanganeen-Milera’s potential to thrive across half-back at the start of pre-season and was given full licence to develop the young gun into a rebounding weapon.

Ross says… “All I’ve learned is to build the environment where they can play great footy in competitive teams and then they tend to want to stay. It was an important signing. We’re thrilled and think he’s got a big future.”
3. Plenty putting their hand up
Ill fortune on the injury front has forced the Saints to rely on their depth early in the campaign, unearthing gems who have proven their worth in spades.
A 37-point VFL win for the Sandringham Zebras over Essendon on Sunday highlighted a further batch of Saints putting their hand up for selection, most notably a best-on-ground performance from Jack Bytel and five-goal outing for Max Heath.
Ross says… “Sandringham won really well on the weekend against Essendon VFL. Jack Bytel put on a good performance, as did Jack Peris, Cooper Sharman, Tom Highmore and Tom Campbell. We got some confidence that they’re fit and available.”
4. Onto the Autobahn we go!
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Ross press conference without another Ross-ism!
The Saints rank first in the league for clamping opponents scoring, conceding just 167 points over the first three rounds, but Lyon believes their willingness to change gears offensively has allowed the group to flourish.

We've conceded just 167 points over the first three rounds, ranked first in the AFL. pic.twitter.com/2nXMOCArUn
And as is the Ross way, he explained it in predictably unpredictable fashion.
Ross says… “Allan Jeans spoke about how you’ve got to drive the car. When you’re going down the freeway you’re not just travelling at 150km are you? You’ve just go to play what’s in front of you. We’re driving the car with some good decisions at the moment, so onto the Autobahn we go.”
