Zak Jones

22 disposals, five tackles, 13 kicks

Really influential game for us, he started on the wing and as we got hurt inside early, a swap to the midfield got the game going forward. Some attacking decisions to work on but loving his game and connection at the moment.

Lance Collard

Five disposals, three tackles, three kicks

Quiet game for Lance, he had a tough opponent this week and will be looking to increase his work rate and speed back to beat his defender. Had a great chase down tackle in the last two or three minutes which saved a goal.

Hunter Clark

18 disposals, seven tackles, seven total clearances

Hunter built into the game strongly, worked really well with the other mids, took us forward from contest and connected really well. He looked to enjoy himself and happy to see him get through unscathed.

Ryan Byrnes

Seven disposals, six kicks, one tackle

Quiet match stat wise as the game didn’t allow for wingers to get involved with their ball movement, but his GPS was the best by a mile.

Paddy Dow

19 disposals, seven tackles, seven total clearances

Slow start in the first with the next three quarters playing like the Paddy Dow that we traded for. Contested possessions, won the groundballs, kicked a really important goal for us and was really clean overall so looking to build on that next week for a four-quarter performance.

Isaac Keeler

14 disposals, 10 kicks, seven marks

Keels took on bit of a different role this week, adapting defensively to what a small forward is going to do in comparison to a key forward. After a slow start, he built himself into the game well. Took multiple intercept marks and eight intercept possessions, bringing his strengths to the table.

Zaine Cordy

14 disposals, 13 kicks, four marks

Played really well, won his aerial contest, provided constant communication and made smart decisions with the ball. Good confidence that he’s ready to go if required.

Mattaes Phillipou

20 disposals, nine tackles, five total clearances

Good game by Mattaes. He was really lively around the ball, used his body to his advantage, was aggressive and physical. Nine tackles and seven groundball gets tells us he followed up around the ball really well. Proud of his desire and hunt for his first game in the VFL.

Angus McLennan

14 disposals, seven marks, two total clearances

Good game by Gus, nine intercept possessions, strong positioning and marked the ball well for us. There are opportunities to get better with decision making and execution with ball in hand but everything else is going well.

Max Heath

35 hitouts, eight tackles, three total clearances

Max was the number one ruckman this week with Tommy Campbell out. He won the hitouts to advantage and backed it up with good follow up. He’s the type of ruck who will set the tone through his mids, we just keep challenging him to move more when he doesn’t have the ball.

Cooper Sharman

14 disposals, two goals, 11 kicks

Great game by Sharmo, he won the ball in the air and on the ground as a key forward which was really pleasing. Had a couple of set shots which were clutch and when we needed him to help save the game at the end, he was all over it, his leadership really stood tall.

Liam O’Connell

5 disposals, three marks, one tackle

Probably a quieter game for Liam, had five touches and they were all intercept possessions, so overall positioned himself quite well defensively. Worked well to build himself back into the game after a slow start in the contest with a good opportunity to build on that next week. Finished off with a crucial mark in the dying moments to save a potential goal against.

Anthony Caminiti

Three goals, 16 disposals, three hitouts

Overall, a very good game, eight shots at goal and five marks inside 50. Could’ve been a great game if he had kicked straight. Continually put himself in the position to put his hand up and be the man up front which was positive. Kicked an important set-shot late which got us going, his positive attitude was infectious all day.

FOR THE ZEBRAS

Hugo Hall-Kahan

10 disposals, nine kicks, one total clearance

Quieter game for Hugo, I think he learnt from last week how to impact as a high half forward in a stoppage-based game. We burnt him a couple of times on attack, but his attitude was good, kept fighting until the end.

Blake Watson

Two goals, 14 disposals, five marks

Starved of opportunity in the first quarter playing as a deep forward, sent him up as a high half forward inside the stoppage where he really contributed to us getting the game back on our terms. He is strong, he is tough and he kicked two really important goals for us in the last quarter.
