Georgia Patrikios has received a timeframe on her foot injury, with further consultation confirming she will miss at least the next eight weeks.
Patrikios suffered the injury in the club’s second pre-season game against West Coast; an unfortunate result for the young leader who produced a compelling pre-season campaign.
“As disappointing as this is for both Georgia and the club, we have no doubt she will do everything possible in her recovery to make herself available as soon as possible,” EGM AFLW Tessie McManus said.
In more positive news, the Saints came out of Saturday’s game with a full bill of health, whilst the club’s 2023 leading goal kicker Nat Exon will put her hand up for selection to face Sydney this weekend after passing a fitness test for a thumb injury.
“Having our entire list come out unscathed following a positive win is a fortunate position to be in,” McManus said.
“It allows us to concentrate on preparation for an important game against a top competitor in the Swans.
“It’ll be great to have someone with Nat’s experience back in the selection frame this week to face Sydney.”
Meanwhile, Steph Chiocci, Bec Ott and Beth Pinchin are all continuing to make progress in their respective recoveries.
