St Kilda Football Club can confirm additional updates to its list, with Ben Paton, Jack Hayes and Olli Hotton today advised they will not be offered contracts for the 2025 season.

Paton joined St Kilda via pick 46 in the 2017 national draft, going on to forge a reputation as a reliable and popular member of the playing group. After missing the 2021 season with a broken leg, Paton’s resilience was on show in 2022, playing 23 games that year. In and out of the team across 2023 and 2024, Paton concludes his career at the club with 71 games in the red, white and black.

Hayes burst onto the scene with a three-goal debut against Collingwood in Round 1, 2022 after joining the club via the pre-season supplemental selection period. In his fifth game, Hayes ruptured his ACL, going on to feature only three more times at senior level. Hayes’ determination, positive attitude and calm demeanour have seen him earn a place as a popular member of the playing group throughout his time at the club.

Hotton joined the Saints via pick 35 in the 2022 national draft. The energetic and versatile 20-year-old played a number of roles as part of his development, while also dealing with his own spate of injuries, however, did not make an appearance at senior level.

“Ben, Jack and Olli have all been valued players throughout their time at the club,” EGM Football David Misson said.

“Each have had their individual significant injury setbacks, however, have continually shown to be resilient, optimistic and professional young men throughout these periods.

“We wish them all the best for this next chapter of their lives and careers.”
