Explosive forward Amber Clarke is officially a Saint, with the club facilitating a trade in the final hours of the 2024 AFLW Trade Period to secure the former Bomber in exchange for pick No. 8.

Originally taken with pick No. 3 in the 2022 AFLW draft, Clarke featured in Essendon’s inaugural AFLW team and has gone from strength to strength throughout her first three seasons in the league.

Collecting a rising star nomination in 2023, the consistent young gun continued to play a pivotal role for the Dons in 2024 as the team cracked a maiden finals berth.

Described as an electric performer with impressive athletic attributes, the 19-year-old will look to add power to the Saints’ offensive line-up going into 2025.

“We’ve had a close eye on Amber as a junior and throughout her first few seasons at Essendon,” EGM AFLW Tessie McManus said.

“A tough nut with the ability to break packs and hit the scoreboard, we can’t wait to welcome Amber to the Saints.”

Clarke’s arrival to St Kilda follows the acquisitions of fellow top-10 picks Charlotte Baskaran and Nicola Barr from Hawthorn and GWS respectively.

St Kilda will head into the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft this coming Monday equipped with pick No. 32, 57 and 62.
