St Kilda is excited to announce several updates to the clubs’ AFLW department, headlined by the appointment of a General Manager of AFLW, two new assistant coaches, an internal high-performance elevation and the return of an AFLW legend.

Jessie Mulholland joins the Saints as GM AFLW after four seasons with the Melbourne Demons where she experienced premiership success in 2022 (Season 7).

Having held a number of football operations and management positions, Mulholland brings with her a wealth of expertise across multiple facets of football, leadership and high-performance.

“We can’t wait to welcome Jessie to our football club,” St Kilda CEO Carl Dilena said.

“Arriving with over a decade in AFL operations, Jessie’s experience and successes position her as the perfect candidate to take on this new challenge at the Saints.”

Mulholland’s appointment follows the departure of Tessie McManus, who concluded her time at the club earlier this year.

“It’s a privilege to join St Kilda at such an exciting time for the AFLW program,” Mulholland said.

“Since the Saints joined the competition, there has clearly been some considered and consistent investment in building the foundations of a successful AFLW club.

“The club has built a reputation among the league for its strong culture and tight knit relationships, and I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and getting started.”

Chris Gamble and Matt Skubis will round out the assistant coaching line-up for 2025, following the departure of Dale Robinson and David Carden. Gamble, who most recently served as a development coach at Collingwood, brings extensive AFLW experience to the team, as does Skubis, who joins from the Western Bulldogs.

Across the program, Alex Davila, who previously served as the team’s Strength and Rehabilitation Coach, has been promoted to the club’s High-Performance Manager (AFLW).

Meanwhile, AFLW legend and recently retired Saint, Steph Chiocci has returned to RSEA Park, stepping into the integral role of Player Development Manager.

“Transitioning into a role in football after retiring is something I’ve always been passionate about. I’m looking forward to working closely with the players, sharing my experiences and helping them navigate their careers both on and off the field,” Chiocci said.

AFLW pre-season will officially kick off on May 12.
