St Kilda has joined forces with the Cheltenham Panthers Junior Football Club with the aim of piloting the impact of an AFL club forming a deeper connection with a local grassroots club.
Under a unique pilot AFL program which sees an AFL club partnered with a local junior football club, the Saints will look to grow the national game in their own backyard.
SAINTS COMMUNITY: Saints all in for disability
St Kilda will provide a range of resources and programs for the Panthers in an effort to boost the club's participation and player retention with a key goal of increasing female participation.
The one-of-a-kind program will include personal player messages and visits, VFLW player mentoring of girls’ teams, and Saints School programs run in close proximity to the Panthers’ home ground.
St Kilda’s new youth positive education program, ‘Play to your Strengths’, will be delivered at the club, while Panthers players will enjoy tailored access to RSEA Park.
The partnership serves to further deepen the Saints’ connection with local football clubs, and strengthen the club’s engagement in Melbourne's South.
