A lot has been made of the Saints’ bright start to the season, but it’s potentially you who holds the key to the club’s prospects in 2019.

The Saints have defied all odds to sit four and one after five rounds, but the club knows there is still a mountain of work to do.

No medals have ever been handed out in April and every single Saint knows it’s time to work even harder.

St Kilda President Andrew Bassat said it was important for all supporters to get behind the team.

“We were blown away by the number of supporters who backed the club in over summer and signed up as members for 2019,” he said.

“We let our members down last year, so a big thank you to all of the loyal supporters who backed the club despite this.”

Bassat said being a member and attending matches was the best possible way to support the club.

The club is hoping to surpass 45,000 members this year, with the current tally sitting slightly above 40,000.

“If we are to achieve the success we all crave, we need more than just the hard work from our players and coaches.  We need every single loyal St Kilda supporter to sign up as a member,” he said.

“If we want to compete successfully with the bigger clubs, we need a stronger membership base and bigger attendances. We need your help to achieve this.”

“If you are already signed up, then encourage your fellow Saints to join you. If you are no longer a member, or would be committing for the first time, then we would love you to jump on board and be part of the Saints family.”
