Sainter Luke Duggan is our first winner, picking up two tickets to St Kilda’s night of nights at season’s end.
With just six games under his belt, Parker has already made a significant splash in the AFL, showcasing the high-flying ability, blistering pace and X-factor that saw him drafted in 2018.
Two speccies against the Crows – the second resulting in a big goal as the Saints surged in the third quarter – put him into Mark of the Year contention, but it was his aggression at ground level that was equally impactful.
21 pressure acts tells the story, his trademark relentless hunt on the footy terrorising the Adelaide backs for much of the afternoon.
MARK OF THE YEAR: Vote for Matty Parker here
Throw in three goals straight, and Parker was as dynamic as any player on the ground, continuing his remarkable rise from B-grade amateur footy in Perth.
Midfield jet Jack Steven came in second, his gut-running performance and never-say-die attitude impressing the Saints faithful as usual.
St Kilda has missed Steven’s influence at the coalface after the four-time Trevor Barker Award-winner endured an interrupted pre-season.
NEW-LOOK DEFENCE: Unlikely trio making waves in Saints' back six
Rounding out the voting was young gun Josh Battle, who features for the first time this season in the award.
Battle played the best game of his career, registering career-best numbers in multiple statistics and later being described by head coach Alan Richardson as “outstanding”.
