St Kilda’s comprehensive performance against Collingwood on Saturday has been reflected in the Coaches Association votes, with the Saints earning a clean sweep from Alan Richardson and Nathan Buckley.
Leigh Montagna’s brilliant performance from a back flank has been rewarded with nine votes.
The Saints stalwart collected the fourth highest disposal count of his 252-game career with 40 disposals, to go with 745 metres gained (2nd most for Round 3), 14 score involvements and seven inside 50s.
Two weeks after collecting a career-high 30 touches against Port Adelaide, Seb Ross raised the bar again on the weekend, registering 31 possessions to score six votes from the coaches.
Along with Ross, midfield duo Jack Newnes and Jack Billings were the other two Saints to accumulate career-high disposal counts. Newnes was rewarded for his 34 possessions and eight inside 50s with five votes, whilst Billings received three for his 30 possessions, 526 metres gained and two goals.
Midfielders Jack Steven (30 possessions and three goals) and Luke Dunstan (25 touches and seven tackles) were each awarded three votes for their efforts against the Pies, whilst Maverick Weller, in his relatively new role in attack, collected one.
