Saints stars have been out and about across the Bayside region visiting a number of junior football clubs in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL).

Jack Billings and Jack Sinclair dropped in at South Melbourne Districts JFC and put the under 10s and under 11s through their paces. Club president David Gustin was rapt to have the ‘two Jacks’ attend their training session.

“The two Jacks - Billings and Sinclair -  not only hosted training sessions with the players but also joined us upstairs for a Q&A session afterwards. The feedback from the training session was great, and then hosting the boys upstairs I can say they starred on the microphone!” Gustin said.

On Sunday Tom Lee and former SMJFL star Nathan Freeman made an appearance at Beaumaris Football Club’s ‘Day on Oak Street’. Nathan and Tom took on the Beaumaris juniors in some hard fought contests on the Saints’ table tennis table, signed autographs and took part in a Q&A session on the main stage.

Beaumaris Juniors Vice-president Jason Daniels said the whole event had been a great success.

“Both Tom Lee and Nathan Freeman were great, they represented the club perfectly and engaged fantastically with the kids. The table tennis was a hit!” Daniels said.

Next week the Saints will be heading to Moe and Morwell and the Mornington Peninsula for the club’s annual community camp visits.

Further club visits are being scheduled across the South Metro Junior Football League, which is the largest independent junior sporting competition in Victoria. The SMJFL is a key partner for the Saints with a shared heartland in the Bayside region and over 22% of junior players identifying as Saints supporters.
