St Kilda key defender Sam Fisher has suffered a hamstring strain at Thursday’s main training session and will miss Sunday’s clash with Adelaide.
Fisher has played an integral role in St Kilda’s back six this season and shut down Fremantle champion Matthew Pavlich last weekend in the Saints’ 34-point win over the Dockers.
GM - Football Performance Jamie Cox said the dual Trevor Barker Award had sustained a regulation hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for approximately 4-5 weeks.
“Unfortunately Sam injured his hamstring late in today’s training session and we expect he will miss around 4-5 weeks," Cox told saints.com.au.
“We will assess his progress after the club's bye (Round 13) and will be in a better position to identify a return date then.
“Given Sam's diligence and professionalism with treating injuries in the past, we are confident he can continue to have an impact in the second half of the season."
