SAM Gilbert’s 150^th AFL game headlines this week’s AFL news list.

The 28-year-old will achieve the milestone in his 10^th season of league football after being drafted with pick 33 in the 2005 National Draft.

Gilbert was a Rising Star nominee in 2007, played in the 2008 pre-season premiership team, and finished equal third in St Kilda’s 2010 best and fairest.

For GWS, Rhys Palmer will play his 50^th club game against the Saints on Sunday.

100 consecutive games – Ted Richards, Sydney Swans. Ted has played 99 consecutive games since Round 15, 2011. He has the second-longest current active streak of games in the AFL, behind Drew Petrie (104 consecutive games).

50 games – Justin Clarke, Brisbane Lions

50 games – Tom Lynch, Adelaide Crows

50 consecutive games – Brandon Ellis, Richmond. Brandon has played 49 consecutive games since Round 12, 2013.

Travis Varcoe, Collingwood, reported by umpire Scott Jeffery for making forceful contact from front-on against Cyril Rioli, Hawthorn, during the fourth quarter of the Round 14 match between Collingwood and Hawthorn, played at the MCG on Friday July 3, 2015.

Ivan Maric, Richmond, reported by umpire Ray Chamberlain for striking Jack Steele, GWS Giants, during the third quarter of the Round 14 match between Richmond and the GWS Giants, played at the MCG on Saturday July 4, 2015.

4. LONG-TERM INJURY LIST CHANGES

The AFL wishes to advise the following recent changes have been made to the long-term injury list.

Carlton has upgraded Blaine Johnson from the rookie list as the replacement for Robert Warnock, who was already on the long-term injury list.

Richmond has reinstated Chris Knights to the senior list from the long-term injury list.

St Kilda has placed Tom Curren on the long-term injury list and upgraded Jack Sinclair from the rookie list as his replacement.

5. NOMINATED AND MID-SEASON PROMOTED ROOKIE PLAYERS

The following list changes were made in the lead-up to round one under the AFL player rules regarding Nominated Rookie Players and Mid-Season Promoted Rookies, who can play during the premiership season:

Carlton – Ciaran Sheehan (nominated), Cameron Wood (nominated).

Collingwood –Jack Frost (nominated).

Gold Coast Suns – Greg Broughton (nominated), Adam Saad (nominated).

Port Adelaide – Nathan Krakouer (mid-season).

Richmond – Kane Lambert (nominated).

St Kilda – Adam Schneider (mid-season).

6. ST KILDA FC SANCTION – ROUND 13 LATE CHANGE  

The AFL wishes to advise the St Kilda Football Club has been sanctioned $5000 after the late replacement of Sam Fisher from the round 13 team to play the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

Fisher was replaced by Luke Delaney, who came from outside the named three emergencies, after Fisher withdrew on match day with a back complaint.

Clubs are not able to bring a player from outside the three emergencies into their team on match day, under the Player Rules.

The AFL received a detailed response from the St Kilda FC and, due to the fact the club also notified the Bulldogs on the day, $2500 of the penalty has been suspended until December 2015, on the condition that the club fully complies with all team selection rules to the end of the season.
