A very special day looms for loyal Saints fans on the afternoon of Sunday 7 June.
Not only will it be a real test for our young playing group who come up against reigning premiers Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium, but it will also be the day our annual Legends Game will be played as a curtain raiser, giving Saints fans the opportunity to watch their favourite stars of yesteryear pull on the red, white and black one more time.
The two Legends Game teams will be coached by former club captains. Danny ‘Spud’ Frawley will look after ‘Danny’s Dingo’s’ against Nathan Burke’s ‘Burkey’s Bandits.’
Club favourite Lenny Hayes (297 games) will return to the Etihad Stadium surface for the first time since his retirement in 2014 to captain Danny’s Dingos. Aussie Jones (226 games) will pull on the boots to lead out Burkey’s Bandits.

Joining them will be current assistant coach Aaron Hamill (239 games), Entrepreneur and former hard-man Steven Baker (203 games), record holding goal-sneak Stephen Milne (275 games) and St Kilda’s very own passionate ambassador and former under 19 wizard, the ‘sheik of tweak’ Shane Warne, who will return for his second appearance in the Saints Legends Game.
It will be a special day for all Saints fans that will have early access to watch the curtain raiser at Etihad Stadium from 2:15pm via level 1, Gate 2 only. Legends Game players will run through their respective banners at 2:30pm, with the first bounce at 2:50pm. Two 15-minute halves should be more than enough to wear these legends down before Milney will gather both teams in one big circle in the centre of the ground to lead off the Saints theme song just as he did during his heyday.
Legends Game Players will receive a pre-game guided tour of the Saints change rooms, their very own customised playing kit, and a ticket to the Saints Premier Lounge function to watch the main match.
