Max King will make his AFL debut for St Kilda this Sunday.
King was snapped up with pick No. 4 in the 2018 National Draft, missing out on a potential No. 1 ranking after rupturing his ACL in his draft year.
But the Saints kept the faith that the 200cm athlete would form an integral part of the club for years to come, turning the boyhood Saints fan’s dream into reality.
King was on the cusp of senior selection last season, before going down with an untimely syndesmosis ankle injury that cut his run short.
Even though St Kilda fans won’t be present to see the birth a new No. 12 in light of COVID-19, the 19-year-old has had the faithful bubbling with excitement for some time now.
King booted four goals in the club’s intra-club match last month, before posting two goals across the Saints’ two Marsh Community Series outings.
St Kilda will face North Melbourne this Sunday at Marvel Stadium in the opening round of the 2020 season.
