Our familiar football rhythm may be out of place with Season 2020 postponed, but it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our game.
We’re winding back the clock to bring you your weekly footy fix, starting with one of the greatest games of all time: St Kilda v Geelong, Round 14 2009.
The Battle of the Unbeaten.
It’s a game burned into St Kilda lore, with the red, white and black’s unopposed march facing its biggest challenge against the similarly undefeated Geelong.
A St Kilda outfit at the peak of its powers, club legends pushing towards the club’s drought-breaking second Premiership and one massive moment from Michael Gardiner…
It doesn’t get much better than that.

Round 14 2009 Team Selection
There can only be one winner.
Round 14 under the roof of Etihad Stadium is building up as one for the record books, with the undefeated Saints and Cats set to battle it out for pole position on Sunday afternoon.
Already tipped to be one of the biggest games this decade, tickets for the recently-dubbed ‘Battle of the Unbeaten’ are virtually exhausted.
St Kilda will make one change, with Max Hudghton (injured) making way for Raphael Clarke.
Sunday will mark the first time in VFL/AFL history that two sides have met after starting their respective seasons with 13 consecutive wins.
The Saints will meet Geelong in one of the great clashes on Sunday 5 July at 3:10pm at Etihad Stadium.
For Saints fans in 2020, tune into 7Mate this Friday at 7:30pm to watch the game and follow our social channels for live coverage.
