Set to make his AFL debut against the Lions at Etihad Stadium this Saturday, here's five things you didn’t know about Hunter Clark.

1. First years stick together

The No. 7 draft pick has recently moved into a house with two other draftees - Doulton Langlands and Nick Coffield.

While the trio are yet to master the kitchen outside of pasta and wraps, they're part of an emerging young contingent forming a recipe for success at St Kilda.

2. Hunter on safari?

If he wasn't at the Saints, could a career as a Zookeeper or Safari Guide have beckoned? The smooth-moving playmaker grew up fascinated with jungle animals and wildlife.

3. At home with the Saints

Hailing from Mt Martha on the Mornington Peninsula, Clark didn’t have to drive far to begin his career with the Saints. The club’s base at Linen House Centre was a short drive from the family home, while the club's new base at RSEA Park is a straight line down the Nepean Highway.

He played his junior football with the Mt Martha Football Club, the same place that Carlton's Jacob Weitering, Greater Western Sydney's Lachie Whitfield and Hawthorn's Billy Hartung started their football journeys.

4. Headband’s on?

In what is fast becoming a trademark look for Clark, he's yet to take the field for the Saints without a headband keeping his hair in check.

A game day superstition, he's worn the same white headband for the past three years, serving him well through U16s and now his AFL debut.

5. Hunters & Collectors

The 18-year-old played Saxaphone and Guitar for a year during Primary School, but admits that outside the basics he wasn't too flash.

Just don't ask him to play Wonderwall.
