“Wright’s actually out of his boot and he started his strength program today, so that’s pretty exciting for him,” Wallis told SAINTS.com.au on Tuesday.
“Steven has pulled up fine from the game so if he was to rest it would be a conditioning issue. Obviously he’s missed a period of time so we need to give him time to adapt to the loads that we put him through.”
There was only one fresh injury stemming from the weekend, with clever forward Trent Dennis-Lane suffering an ankle sprain one minute into the final term in Saturday’s VFL loss to Footscray.
Meanwhile, Wallis expects David Armitage to play after the bye and Tom Hickey to return to action in six weeks.
