Sandringham assistant and St Kilda development coach Paul Hudson spoke to SAINTS.com.au on Tuesday following Sandringham's high-scoring win over Essendon on Sunday afternoon.

Terry Milera
24 disposals, 2 goals
He had an unusual game, Terry. He obviously found his fair share of the ball and kicked a couple of goals but he did get caught behind on a few occasions we really needed him to be in front.

He played multiple positions from forward to on the ball to the wing and he had a good game in the end. He’s a smart player.

Trent Dennis-Lane
7 disposals, 3 goals
He didn’t have a lot of touches again but gee, he’s taking his opportunities. TDL is averaging three or four goals a game over the last month but his shots came about on the weekend thanks to some really good defensive efforts and tackling.

He didn’t take a mark although the conditions weren’t conducive to lots of marking. Trent was always structurally in the right spot and was rewarded with three goals.

Sam Dunell
15 disposals, 2 goals
Sammy had a really good game. He had 15 possessions, primarily playing as one of our key forwards and what he did provide was plenty of leads for us as we came out of defence.

He marked well, as he always does, but it was his defensive running too and his willingness to get in behind the ball and give us some cover in defence that was most pleasing. So Sammy has had quite a good game on the back of a few good weeks.

Cam Shenton
20 disposals, 1 goal
We gave Shents the job of playing on Hardingham when he could and I thought Cam had a pretty good game actually. He made one or two small errors but look, he’s been quite consistent and he’s so good one-on-one in the marking contest.

We pushed him forward in the last quarter and he probably could have kicked three goals. We needed to win the game, all the matchups were sorted in defence, so we though ‘why not?’ Shents added something extra forward of the ball.

Josh Bruce
11 disposals, 6 marks
Brucey took some really good marks when we needed him to. He was solid down back and laid a couple of tackles.

Darren Minchington
16 disposals
I thought he had a pretty good game as well. The good thing about Minchy is his intensity and willingness to use his legs out of a stoppage. He just needs to be careful with his hands. He had nine handballs on a day suited to kicking more than handballing.

Dylan Roberton
13 disposals
Robbo will be the first to admit he didn’t have the game he wanted. He did get better as the match progressed and was generally pretty reliable in defence.

Jason Holmes
5 disposals, 38 hit outs
Holmesy was tremendous in the middle. We felt he beat Bellchambers as far as tap-work goes, which was fantastic. The amount of times that he knocked it down the throat of Ross, Cockie and Murdoch was excellent and it gave us first use.

When you are anticipating and reading a dominating ruckman, it gives you such an advantage to move the ball forward and Holmesy was excellent in this regard. He’s still learning but every week he’s improving.

Brodie Murdoch
15 disposals, 1 goal
I really like the way Brodie is going at the footy. His intensity is great and he’s hard at the footy. Because of his strength and attack he had five tackles.

The most pleasing part was in the final term when we threw him into the middle and he won some very important clearances for us and really made a good physical impact. He’s improving each week.

Arryn Siposs
20 disposals, 8 marks, 3 goals
This was the best game I’ve seen Sippo play all season. He was involved in all facets of the game and a couple of his marks late in the game were absolutely crucial grabs because it allowed us to slow the game up once we hit the lead.

It’s also amazing what happens when you kick straight and he had four tackles. So he’s getting more confidence with his defensive efforts.

Beau Maister
9 disposals, 2 goals, 4 behinds
Gee, he had nine touches but six shots on goal. Days like that aren’t suited to big marking forwards but Beau provided a good contest it was just a shame he kicked a bit inaccurately.

Often he wasn’t helped by another one or two forwards flying for the same ball, so as a forward group we need to get better at that. But he brings the ball to ground well and he did so again on Sunday.

Seb Ross
32 disposals, 24 kicks, 2 goals
He bounced back really well following the disappointment of being left out of the senior team. He had four shots on goal too and he generally got those from stoppages and tight situations. He also laid five tackles, proving that he’s not just a good ball-winner.

Sebby and Sippo would have been our best two players I would have thought.

Daniel Markworth
10 disposals
He went for a ball inside 50 and got cleaned up by Tom Bellchambers, so he didn’t take a backwards step and that was really good. He held his ground.

He played on the wing and spent some time forward, and there wasn’t a lot of space for him. But what he did do was pretty good.

Spencer White
11 disposals, 1 goal
Spencer spent a couple of weeks back at the development league and I was pleased for him on Sunday. He did well.

He’s improving his fitness and there were signs that he was on the move more this week. Defensively he was better and his second efforts were terrific. We also played him on the wing and in the ruck which shows how versatile he is.

Sam Fisher
4 disposals
Chips obviously injured his hamstring early and that was disappointing for him and us. Hopefully we see him back sooner rather than later.Sign up today for an Ultimate 3 Game Reserved Seat Membership and secure the best seats in the house at our 3 upcoming blockbuster games, starting with the clash against Carlton on Monday night.
