BRODIE Murdoch played eight games in his first season, impressing with his strength over the ball and hardness in the clinches.

The 19-year-old debuted in St Kilda’s historic Anzac Day clash against Sydney in round five and performed admirably, collecting eight disposals in wet and windy conditions.

Although Murdoch was in and out of the senior team for the majority of the year, he did manage to string four games together mid-season – including a 13-disposal, five-tackle effort against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium.

Murdoch has the body to compete at the highest level, and has great versatility the complements his ready-made physique.

Development coach Tony Micale:

“Brodie was a good VFL performer this year and deserved the opportunities he got at the senior level. His versatility allowed him to play forward, back and through the midfield and he’s physically very strong for a young player too. Brodie had a good first season of football.”
