The fans have spoken, and as voted by you, Jack Steele is the Round 5 Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.

Steele amassed a game-high 23 disposals, nine tackles and four centre clearances while going toe-to-toe with Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps in Thursday night’s prime-time fixture.

The resolute midfielder played a critical role in curbing the influence of Cripps, who had just five touches to his name by half-time thanks to Steele’s unrelenting efforts.

With 19 tackles from his past two outings, the Saints’ No. 9 has leapt into second spot on the League’s 2020 tackle count (33).

Steele’s three-vote performance also moves him into second place on the Sainter of the Round leaderboard, with Dan Butler sitting clear by three after two best-on-ground performances against Collingwood and Richmond.

Two votes go to Rowan Marshall and his sensational ruckwork that both gifted the Saints the perfect start and pulled them through a spirited Carlton resurgence.

The Prospect finished his Thursday night with 19 disposals, 22 hit-outs and seven clearances in his battle against an in-form Marc Pittonet.

When the Blues threatened to overrun the Saints in the final term, Marshall stood tall to wrench the red, white and black over the line.

In the final 20 minutes of play, the 24-year-old won eight disposals, seven hit-outs, four clearances and two inside-50s to move the Saints into the top-four.

Rounding out this week’s voting is exciting backman Ben Long, who delighted the faithful through his grit, courage and competitive plays.

The dynamic defender reeled in two extraordinary marks on the night: one bravely running back with the flight at centre-half back, and another where he spectacularly took to the skies to likely snare his second Mark of the Year nomination of Season 2020.

Long closed out his evening with 12 disposals and six intercepts to his name.
