Twenty-five Saints are locked and loaded for AFLW Season 2021, with 18 players signing contract extensions to tie them to the red, white and black for at least another year.
Young talents including Caitlin Greiser, Georgia Patrikios and Molly McDonald all recommitted to the club until Season 2022, joining re-signed campaigners Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Kate McCarthy for another two seasons.
Trade recruits Jayde Van Dyk and Bianca Jakobsson also inked two-year deals after joining the Saints from Carlton and Melbourne respectively.
Head of Women’s Football Jamie Cox said he was delighted to see so many Saints put pen to paper to build upon the promising foundations laid in the club’s inaugural year in the AFLW competition.
“It’s another indicator that we’re really building something here at St Kilda,” Cox said.
“We are incredibly excited to see what the future holds for this talented group of women.”
Selena Karlson, Nat Exon, Cat Phillips, Darcy Guttridge and Claudia Whitfort were all signed on two-year contracts ahead of Season 2020, with no extensions confirmed prior to the new season.
St Kilda has five spots remaining on its list for Season 2021 and holds draft selections No. 6 (Vic 4), No. 24 (16), No. 34 (21), No. 40 (24) & No. 57 (33).
