Tilly Lucas-Rodd is this week’s Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round following Sunday’s Indigenous Round clash against Adelaide.
While the experience of the Crows ultimately won out at Norwood Oval, the unwavering defender refused to throw in the towel, notching up a game-high 24-disposals, seven intercepts and five rebound-50s.
Nine of her touches were racked up in the last term, seeing her draw level with leading ball-winner Georgia Patrikios by the final siren.
Lucas-Rodd spent majority of the opening half along the wings, before relocating back to her customary defensive role as the home side pressed their assault.
Alongside fellow half-backs Hannah Priest, Tarni White and Jayde Van Dyk, the 24-year-old weathered the storm of repeat inside-50s and helped stem Adelaide’s attack in the second half.
The No. 18 fought tooth-and-nail under immense pressure, and despite being floored by several bigger-bodied Crows throughout the match, picked herself up and carried on unfazed.
As of Round 5, Lucas-Rodd leads St Kilda’s total intercepts (32), sits second for metres gained (1119) and disposals (88) and is averaging the third-highest disposal efficiency for the Saints (75 per cent).
