The 25-year-old ruckman suffered the injury against Geelong and underwent surgery after a decision was made to operate and correct the issue.

Marshall will join Paddy Ryder in the ruck in a partnership that has proved crucial this season.

He also sits first among the AFL’s key forwards for intercept marks, and second for total marks, effective disposals and metres gained.

Following a return to Victoria to be with his new-born twins, Brett Ratten has confirmed that Seb Ross will face the Tigers this Friday night.

Ross currently sits at third for total clearances, stoppage clearances and centre clearances for the Saints, while being fourth for contested possessions and fifth for total disposals.

After debuting in front of an empty stadium, Oscar Clavarino could return for his first AFL game in front of a Melbourne crowd.

The 22-year-old defender was omitted for the clash with the Crows, but with the St Kilda injury list pushed out to 12, the youngster is a chance to be named.

Defenders Darragh Joyce (concussion) and Leo Connolly (shin) will also come into consideration for Ratten at the selection table, both now available for selection following their respective injuries.

James Frawley (shoulder), Dan McKenzie (calf), Shaun McKernan (toe) and Dean Kent (concussion) will need to undergo tests this week before being made available for selection.
