An hour before his name was called out at the mid-season rookie draft, Max Hall had just finished a day’s work at his family cattle farm in Yea. The following morning, he was in at RSEA Park for his first day as a Saint.

A young midfielder/half-forward previously plying his trade at the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL, Hall was one of the most improved players across the major state league competitions over the past 12 months, whose notable rise has since landed him on an AFL list.

Tough in the clinches and with good speed, smarts and endurance, Hall was able to join the red, white and black after the club opened up a list spot by moving injured defender James Van Es to the inactive list.

Hall becomes the third player to join St Kilda via the mid-season draft, following on from Cooper Sharman and Max Heath.
