The excitement attached to Mattaes Phillipou is close to off the charts, as is the potential for the South Australian with unrivalled confidence and hunger to succeed.

After a stint in the VFL midseason, Phillipou exploded back onto the scene in the latter stages of 2024 showing a renewed hunger and incredible ability around the ground as he looks to take the next steps into a full-time midfield position.

Although not considered a part of his game prior to being drafted, the South Australian’s aerial ability and high-flying heroics are quickly becoming just as much of a part of his skillset as his flair in front of goal.

Phillipou will face a delayed start to the year after suffering a stress fracture in his femur, but will be hungrier than ever to hit the track again.
