Backline duo Jack Sinclair and Callum Wilkie have been selected in the 44-man All-Australian squad for the first time in their careers.
The two Saints have pieced together starring campaigns this season, consistently charting among the club - and competition's - most consistent and influential players in the defensive half.
Sinclair, an undisputed frontrunner for this year's Trevor Barker Award, has only elevated his game following last year's revolutionising move to half-back. The 27-year-old has averaged 28 disposals, six marks and five rebound-50s this year, surpassing the 30-disposal mark eight times this season.
Meanwhile, the unassuming Wilkie has finally received the recognition he deserves after flying well under the radar in his previous three seasons. The latest addition to St Kilda's leadership group, yet to miss a game after 84 straight appearances, has registered career-best figures with an average of 16 disposals (at 88 per cent efficiency), seven marks and six spoils per match.
Both Wilkie and Sinclair were additionally nominated by their peers for the AFL Players' Association Most Valuable Player Award.
The 2022 All Australian selection panel consists of Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Andrew Dillon, Glen Jakovich, Gerard Healy, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Nick Riewoldt and Brad Scott. Kevin Sheehan is also a selector for the NAB AFL Rising Star Award.
