St Kilda has confirmed changes to its AFLW list, with Rosie Dillon, Deanna Jolliffe, Erin McKinnon, Renee Saulitis and Jayde Van Dyk informed they will not be receiving new contracts for the 2024 season.
Dillon was a crucial cog in St Kilda’s formative years, sharing Best & Fairest honours in the club’s inaugural campaign, taking part in the Saints’ first ever AFLW game in 2020 and later holding a place in the club’s Emerging Leaders Group throughout 2022.
The inside midfielder lined up for 31 senior games after being drafted from Box Hill, adding three games to her name this season just gone.
McKinnon arrived at St Kilda from GWS ahead of AFLW Season 7 alongside Nicola Stevens and Grace Kelly, with concussion and injury setbacks during her time at the club limiting her to just seven appearances.
A product of the Southern Saints and captain of the side during its maiden Grand Final berth last season, Jolliffe took to the field in St Kilda colours on nine occasions, serving as both a forward and tagger.
An ACL rupture to Saulitis in a practice game prior to Season 7 saw her feature just once in 2023, with the small forward-turned-defender running out for 10 games after making her debut in the opening of 2021.
Meanwhile, Van Dyk was moved to the inactive list before the start of the 2023 season following her own ACL injury in Round 2 of Season 7, playing 20 games for the club on top of her previous 10 for Carlton.
“On behalf of the club and our women’s program, we’d like to thank Rosie, Deanna, Erin, Renee and Jayde for everything they have given to the club,” Executive General Manager of AFLW Tessie McManus said.
“All five arrived at St Kilda through their own distinct pathways and their subsequent journeys have been just as diverse, but all have had an impact on the club and their teammates both on and off the field.
“We thank all these women for their contributions. They will always be welcome back at the club in the many years to come.”
Following these changes, St Kilda has four spots remaining on its AFLW list, with a minimum of two to be used at the upcoming 2023 AFLW Draft on 18 December.
