Emerging key forward Max King will undergo surgery on his right ankle tomorrow, which is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the season.
Scans earlier this week confirmed a syndesmosis injury to his right ankle.
General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean said surgery was the best option.
“There is the possibility that Max could rehab the injury without surgery, but after weighing up the options, we have opted for surgery,” he said.
“Max will start a rehab program next week, but it does appear unlikely that he will return in time to play again this year.
“It’s disappointing given Max was pushing for senior selection, but the focus will now be on working on his strength in the gym and being ready for day one of pre-season."
