“It means a lot to re-sign and gives me a lot of security to be in the system for another two years,” Murdoch told SAINTS.com.au.
“I’m really excited about the future here at the Saints. Lenny Hayes and Nick Riewoldt said they went through the same hardships when they were young, but they all came through together and I think this group has the same potential to have similar success.”
The 20-year-old has played a total of 17 senior games since he was selected with pick 40 in the 2012 National Draft.

Although he has learnt plenty in his two seasons at the Saints, the left-footer admitted he has a long way to go before he entrenches his position in St Kilda’s best team.“I probably haven’t quite been as good as I would have liked in my two years here,” he said.
“I had an interrupted pre-season which affected the first few rounds of this year, but what I’m committed to now is having a really strong start to 2015 after a good pre-season.”
Head of Football Chris Pelchen praised the left-footer’s character, and while inconsistent, said his best games in 2014 were extremely positive.
“Brodie has genuine character and we look forward to his ongoing emergence in 2015,” Pelchen told SAINTS.com.au.
“He continued his development as a senior player in 2014 with a number of promising performances for both St Kilda and Sandringham. His long kicking is a feature of his game.”
Initially drafted as a lead-up forward, Murdoch has added a number of strings to his bow since his days at Glenelg in South Australia, a fact that is not lost on Alan Richardson.
“Brodie has the potential to provide great versatility to the team,” Richardson told SAINTS.com.au.
“He can play half-forward, wing and half-back and possesses an excellent combination of speed and endurance.”
Murdoch's re-signing follows Luke Dunstan, Josh Saunders, Jack Newnes, Lewis Pierce and Nathan Wright in week one, Jimmy Webster, Blake Acres, Spencer White and Darren Minchington last week, in addition to Seb Rosson Monday, Daniel Markworth on Tuesday and Tom Curren on Wednesday.
