NICK Riewoldt’s season was a picture of consistency and strong leadership.

He took 202 marks for the year – more than any other player in the AFL – and also booted 50 goals, his highest tally since 2009.

Week after week Riewoldt worked tirelessly in St Kilda’s forward half, providing a marking option as high up as the wing and as deep as the goal-square.

The 30-year-old booted four goals three times in the first nine rounds and his 26-disposal, 15-mark effort against Gold Coast in round 22 was a typically dominant Riewoldt performance from centre-half-forward.

H is tremendous year was rewarded with a runner-up finish in the best and fairest award and selection in the extended All-Australian squad.
Forward-line coach Adam Kingsley:

“Roo had another terrific season. Obviously second in the best and fairest proves this and he led from the front the entire year. His preparation is both mentally and physically elite.

He’s a terrific example of what you can aspire to. He’s obviously hugely talented but he also works really hard.”
