Claudia Whitfort will be looking to return for St Kilda’s final match of the year, despite a right shoulder subluxation from the weekend.
The 21-year-old midfielder – who has spent the past fortnight with the Southern Saints – suffered the partial dislocation during Sunday’s VFLW match against Casey, with an MRI on the previously reconstructed shoulder revealing no major damage.
Whitfort will train with the main group tomorrow night and will be available for selection if she proves her fitness.
Shoulder-hampered teammate Nat Exon will be ruled out of Round 9 however, with a knock from three weeks ago continuing to keep the on-baller on the sidelines.
The sprain to her sternoclavicular joint has kept the 28-year-old away from the field since the Saints' clash with the Giants, with the resulting soreness putting a line through another 2021 appearance.
Exon will be joined on the sidelines by Kate McCarthy, whose fibula bone stress will bring her season to a premature close.
Nicola Xenos (knee), Olivia Vesely (calf) and Rebecca Ott (knee) are all completing their rehabilitations as expected.
