Jack Sinclair has officially joined the game's elite, earning his first ever Therabody All-Australian selection.

The star half-back becomes the 20th Saint in history to receive the prestigious honour, following a career-best season that saw him average 28 possessions, 22 effective disposals and 515 metres gained, all ranked as elite by Champion Data.

Often used as the link between transferring the ball across all three lines, the 141-game Saint also topped the AFL for kicks with 428, and ranked third for total effective kicks with 318.

Appearing in every game this season, Sinclair topped 30 disposals eight times, including a career-high 37 disposals against Carlton in Round 16.

The past two years have been a remarkable turnaround for the 27-year-old, who has transformed himself from an inconsistent midfielder to an elite half-back.

After falling out of favour in 2020, Sinclair worked hard to regain his spot in Senior Coach Brett Ratten's side, enjoying a breakout season in 2021 to finish a runner-up in the Trevor Barker Award before taking his game to a whole new level in 2022.

Tonight's distinction is likely the first in a string of accolades for the defender, with many expecting Sinclair to go one better than his 2021 feats to take out his first Trevor Barker Award in September.

The No. 35 had been nominated alongside fellow defender Callum Wilkie, while Marcus Windhager also joined the group as a nominee for the Rising Star Award and Best First-Year Player.
